Pupil Parent - Website Portal for reports and progress tracking

As part of our development objectives to support greater and more transparent communication with pupils and parents about pupil progression we are pleased to announce a new web based tool for parents and pupisl which we hope to have fully operational by September.

The Pupil Progress Tracker is being built and will be added to the website.  This will enable parents and pupils to access their records only and effectively print off complete subject reports showing the latest individual targets set for each subject, their half termly assessment results in every subject and their target grades for the year.  In addition half termly conduct and performance grades will be visible.

Pupils wil be able to input their own goals into the system and see their indvidual progress indicator for each half term.  It will generate a top ten ranking for pupils who have made most progress across the curriculum each half term.

Pupil Forum - Website Developments

We have launched the pupil forum which provides a secure environment for pupils to communicate.  It is also a hub for the publication of all homework tasks and realted resources.  Pupisl hae secure access to this and can use the internal messaging or forum posting options to ask questions of staff if they have a difficulty with a homework task.

Parents will be able to request a user name and password to view this system however they will not be able toineract with pupils by using messaging or thread posts.  Nor is it possible to access email details or send emails via the system.  The pupis have started using this in teh final week of term and like it.  we will develop the system as we see how it is used by parents and pupils.

Easter Holidays - 2013
Some parents have noticed that the Easter Holiday next year actually fall after the Easter Bank Holiday.  That is the school is closed for Good FRiday and Easter Monday but open from Tues to Friday.  This is correct and caused by the early Easter this year.

Ski Trip 2012 - Pila - Departs 18th February 2012
The Ski Trip is open to all pupils in Years 6-11.  It is always a terrific success.  The 2012 trip is the third to run to Pila where children can elect to either learn to snowboard or ski.  The total cost of the ski trip inclusive of all transport, accommodation and meals is £779.

Deposits of £125 have been received from many pupils but I will shortly have to finalise numbers and request payment of a further installment towards the cost.

New pupils who have started at school in September may wish to join the trip and I have some place availability for this.  Parents can email school for the requisite form and details via the website 'contact us' page or info@rivingtonparkschool.co.uk
